At VISIO, our mission is to design and deliver innovative, sustainable, and
functional solutions that turn vision into reality. We work closely with our clients
to understand their unique needs and shape spaces that inspire and endure—enhancing
the built environment, improving community life, and leaving a lasting architectural
legacy.
Gaetan SIEW and Vinesh CHINTARAM are the founding leaders of VISIO Architecture Ltd
(VISIO), bringing together decades of experience, design excellence, and strategic
vision. Gaetan SIEW (now Honorary Chairman) is widely recognised in Mauritius and
internationally for his long-standing contribution to the country’s architectural
landscape, with a distinguished track record across major institutional and landmark
projects. Vinesh CHINTARAM , the Managing Partner, represents a new-generation
leadership, driving VISIO’s multidisciplinary growth with a strong focus on
innovation, sustainability, and regional expansion. Vinesh is shaping VISIO into a
benchmark practice in Mauritius—combining legacy and forward-thinking ambition, and
positioning the firm for increasing impact across Africa.

"VISIO’s roots
lie in Mauritius’
post-Independence nation-building era. The practice began as a
partnership between architects W. Lampotang and G. Siew,
contributing to a formative period of development marked by new
towns, public institutions, and civic infrastructure—hospitals,
offices, and major public facilities that supported a growing
country.
Over time, the firm evolved into LSA Architects, building a
strong reputation through diverse work across the island. During
these three decades, LSA delivered a series of landmark projects
that helped shape Mauritius’ modern built environment, including
the Bank of Mauritius, Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International
Airport, the French Institute, multiple high-rise buildings in
Port Louis, the Port Louis Theatre, and a broad range of
residential projects—from affordable housing to high-end private
developments. Beyond the projects themselves, this period
established the firm’s foundations: professional rigour,
contextual design thinking, and long-term engagement with the
country’s evolving needs."

"From 2013, the
practice entered a new phase
of renewal—strengthening its structure, modernising methods, and
repositioning for growth. A renewed leadership framework
combined G. Siew’s depth of experience with V. Chintaram’s
dynamic and innovative drive, creating momentum for a more
contemporary, multidisciplinary practice.
In 2016, VISIO Architecture Ltd was officially established as
the continuity of LSA, formalising a new identity while carrying
forward decades of expertise and credibility. With G. Siew as
Chairman and V. Chintarama as CEO, the team grew significantly
during this period, and VISIO consolidated its standing as a
leading practice in the local market—recognised for clarity of
thinking, design quality, and reliable delivery."

"The year 2020
was initially meant to
accelerate VISIO’s Africa strategy, but the pandemic disrupted
markets, operations, and project timelines. VISIO’s ability to
adapt was supported by preparation made earlier: an agile
operating culture, cloud-based systems, and remote workflows
that helped maintain continuity despite unprecedented
constraints.
These years demanded rapid adjustment, stronger internal
coordination, and a renewed focus on stability and delivery.
Resilience became the central objective—sustaining project
commitments, supporting the team, and reinforcing operational
flexibility. The period also sharpened VISIO’s capacity to
operate across multiple contexts, manage uncertainty, and remain
dependable to clients even in volatile conditions."

"In 2025, VISIO
experienced a meaningful
shift in its leadership landscape. G. Siew was appointed
Ambassador of Mauritius to the People’s Republic of China and
became Honorary Chairman of VISIO, while V. Chintaram continued
as CEO, ensuring continuity of vision and strategic
direction.
This year also marked a step toward expanding and strengthening
leadership through the appointment of new Associates: G. Allet,
M. Jeeloll, K. Mooroogen, and N. Joomum—a move that reflects
institutional maturity and supports the firm’s next stage of
growth."

"VISIO’s
ambition to position itself among
Africa’s leading practices remains a priority. The firm brings a
distinctive multidisciplinary track record, combining
architecture with planning intelligence and delivery discipline.
Its experience spans complex and niche sectors such as airports,
high-rise developments, aquariums, complex industrial projects,
urban regeneration, and mobility strategies, among
others.
Looking ahead, VISIO aims to translate this depth of expertise
into high-impact collaborations and projects across African
cities and markets—delivering future-ready, context-driven
solutions that create lasting value."
